How does the Beauer expanding mechanism work?

Beauer's patented telescopic "gigogne" design keeps the overall width of the caravan compact when closed, then expands to double or triple in size once you arrive at your destination!

This is achieved with hydraulic cylinders - no need for any manual exertion, simply press a button and let Beauer do the work for you.

How to open - 5 simple steps

1

Unclip the safety latches (which prevent the Beauer from opening in transit)

2

Open the front locker to access the cylinder controls & safety switches

3

Insert the cylindrical safety key (the Beauer cannot open or close without this inserted)

4

Turn the orange safety switch on, activating the power supply to the cylinders

5

Press the "Open" button on the remote control, and your Beauer expands in just 60 seconds!

What happens to the furniture?

The furniture of the Beauer 3X model has been cleverly designed to "nest" in position when closed.

The centre section remains stationary, while the walls, flooring and furniture fold inwards to nest above & around the kitchen units.

The walls of the bedroom nest over the top of the centre section & the bed folds upwards and nests up against the washroom/storage units.

The practical bits

Could someone else open/close my Beauer?
As long as you remember to remove the cylindrical safety key from the socket after opening your Beauer, there is no way to activate the electric cylinders.

We also advise removing the safety switch key & storing it on your person/somewhere safe and out of reach - this provides 2 layers of security, and you should also lock the front locker when you're finished opening/closing your Beauer.
What happens if there's an obstruction?
If anything obstructs the opening or closing of your Beauer, the cylinders will detect this and are designed to shut off automatically.

Essentially, if there is any resistance whatsoever outside of the set parameters, the cylinders will cease operation, allowing you to reopen the Beauer, remove the obstruction and try again.
What do I need to do before closing my Beauer?
Before closing your Beauer, it is incredibly important that you stow any loose items in the correct positions.

You can stow items in any of the overhead lockers, storage cupboards and washroom (all are fitted with secure latches to prevent opening in transit) and in the footwell area of the centre section (kitchen) as this section remains stationary while opening/closing.
What if the cylinders fail?
This is incredibly unlikely to happen, and the Beauer cylinders are guaranteed for life.

However, should this occur, the Beauer can be manually opened with a winder to allow you to access the interior, and more importantly, allow a qualified workshop to access the cylinders to perform the necessary repairs/replacements.
